Hey Reader,
Over the past few days, I’ve shared how Google Workspace connects almost every part of my business and how Airtable acts as my business’s memory.
Today, I'll share the software that helps me stay connected to the driving force behind my business, my audience.
And that software is Kit.
Kit is my email marketing platform, but “sending emails” barely scratches the surface of what it does in my business.
The landing pages and opt-in forms I create in Kit help new people find their way onto my email list, which means I can stay in touch with them without relying on a social media algorithm.
Once they join, Kit can automatically send them a series of emails like the one you’re reading right now.
That same kind of automation also helped my business continue bringing in income while I took a three-month maternity leave.
Kit is also how I seamlessly onboard new members of The Systems Library.
They receive a series of automated welcome emails that guides them through the library, so they aren’t simply handed a portal and left to figure out where to start on their own.
But one of the biggest reasons Kit earns its place in my software budget is that it helps me remember who I’m talking to.
Someone may be:
- A brand-new lead who just downloaded a resource
- A current member of The Systems Library
- A past customer
- A client
- Someone who clicked on a specific offer or showed interest in a certain topic
Kit keeps track of those details based on the actions people take in my business.
That means members can receive important updates about The Systems Library while non-members receive an invitation to join. I’m not accidentally promoting something to someone who already bought it or sending every email to every person on my list.
That is what I want from my email platform.
I want it to help me continue the conversation based on the relationship someone already has with my business.
TAKE A LOOK BEHIND THE SCENES
I recorded a short video so you can snoop around my Kit account and get an inside look at two of my favorite features: personalized messaging based on subscriber behavior, plus the feature that helped me grow my list by more than 300 people.
If you want to start building your own email list, you can create your account on Kit’s free plan here:
That’s my affiliate link, which means I may receive a commission if you eventually choose a paid plan, at no additional cost to you.
Alright, Reader, that’s officially a wrap on my behind-the-scenes tour. Thanks for sticking around and snooping through the software that keeps my business running.
After today, you’ll continue to receive my regular emails, where I share practical ways to make your business easier to run and create a smoother experience for the people buying from you.
If you’d like more support putting those ideas into action, The Systems Library is where you can steal the exact systems I use in my business and implement them one workflow at a time.
I’d love to support you whenever you’re ready. Until then, I’ll be back in your inbox soon!
With love,
Angela
P.S. If you want to see the Kit-related workflows I’ve shared inside The Systems Library, you can join for $15/month here before the price increases to $27/month on August 12. The price is increasing because I’m adding live monthly Q&A calls and guided co-working sessions, but if you join before then, you’ll keep the $15/month rate for as long as you remain a member.
Spoiler alert: There are already workflows to help you segment subscribers based on their behavior, personalize your opt-ins, improve your opt-in pages, turn sales data into automated emails, and more.
P.P.S. I’m also building a brand-new member portal that will let you filter the Library by the tools you use, so all the Kit-related workflows will be easy to find in one place. You can watch the portal preview here.
P.P.P.S. If you missed Parts 1 and 2 of my “3 Tools My Biz Can’t Live Without” series, you can catch up on Google Workspace here and Airtable here.
